Catwalks and Cocktails at Charity Bash
The Press, June 11 2010

FOLLOWING the much-anticipated release of the blockbuster film, Sex And The City 2, women in York are being treated to their own night of style.
Four local businesses are hosting a Style In The City event at Pitcher & Piano bar on Wednesday, offering them the chance to be styled from head to toe – all in aid of charity.
The evening starts at 7.30pm with a catwalk show, when the newly-crowned Miss York, Hannah Buffam, will glide down the runway along with several Miss York finalists, modelling designer fashions from Bunty & Co, lingerie from

Elizabeth Wells and hair and make up by Bang Hair and Prescribe Skincare.
Throughout the evening, Pitcher & Piano will be offering themed cocktails, while Bang Hair will be giving hairstyling master classes

and also offering ladies the chance to be restyled on the night in exchange for charity donations.
Sarah Cotton, co-director of Gillygate-based Bang Hair, said: “We are so excited to be involved in this event, it’s going to be a fantastic night and we’re hopefully going to raise a good amount of money for Breast Cancer Research.”
Prescribe Skincare, based in Pocklington, will be on hand to give bespoke make-up prescriptions so women can learn everything from how to apply foundation to creating the hottest looks this season, individually tailored to them. They will also offer makeovers during the evening for the cause.
Designer styling by Bunty & Co, also based in Pocklington, will no doubt prove popular with the fashion savvy crowd, offering styling tips and showing how to make the most out of those summer wardrobes.
Meanwhile, lingerie, swimwear and nightwear fittings will be available from Elizabeth Wells Lingerie, based in Shambles, York.
Proprietor Sarah Wells said: “I am really looking forward to raising lots of money for Cancer Research, which is a cause incredibly close to my heart.”
Bargains will also be up for grabs as the businesses will be offering a ten per cent discount on all items bought on the night and there will also be a prize draw for a chance to win lots of goodies.
Tickets cost £3 and are available from Pitcher & Piano, Bang Hair and Elizabeth Wells Lingerie, or Bunty & Co and Prescribe Skincare in Pocklington. All proceeds from ticket sales are going to Breast Cancer Research and Cancer Research UK.
