Pocklington Post, Thursday November 16th 2006 ‘On the catwalk to raise funds’, page 21
London, Paris, Milan and now Pocklington. A designer is bringing together businesses to inspire new talent to enter the world of fashion and put the town on the map. Nicola Scott, 25, owner of Bunty & Co., the new boutique in Market Place, is hosting a fashion show at 7:30pm on Sunday 26 November at Pocklington Arts Centre. The evening will end with a charity raffle with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research. Prizes have been donated by businesses in the town. Nicola, who opened the boutique two months ago, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to put Pocklington on the map. It’s a very up-and-coming area and is a great little town. By businesses coming together like this we really can help promote local commerce.” Pupils from both Pocklington School and Woldgate College will be acting as models for the event and the girl who gives the best performance will win a photography session and portfolio from photographers Harvey King in Market Place. Spirit Hairdressing will be styling the models throughout the night.
